We had the pleasure of catching up with Los Angeles-based Creative Producer and Photographer Mario Kristian on what he’s been up to and life during quarantine.
How are you? Where are you at the moment?
That’s a hard question to answer. I’m good at this moment, given our new life normalities lol.
What's been keeping you busy? Any new projects in development?
Me and some close friends are working on creating a cafe. That’s one of my new passions :-).
I feel like as creatives we’re constantly making iterations even when initially we thought the project was done. How do you know when a project is actually complete?
I think I’m starting to realize it’s never really done; accepting that and just knowing it’s all going to continue to evolve makes "sticking the fork in it" easier for me.
I know a lot of people's inspiration and ideas may stem from being outside. Since we’ve been in quarantine for several months now, where are you finding inspiration?
My biggest inspiration is watching my friends create throughout what’s going on. I admire my homies who are still getting it in despite how life has changed around us.
What are you doing during your down time?
I’ve become a teenage gamer (lol) and my wife has accepted the fact that I [often] have a headset in my ear, controller in hand, screaming “get down!” “run!” “watch out!” Hahaha.
Have you picked up any new hobbies?
I really want to buy a bike and get on my Lance (Armstrong) shit. I think biking is next for me lol.
Have you noticed a change in your shopping habits?
Yeah, I feel bad if I buy anything I don’t need. I think we should be saving right now more than anything.
What’s been your go to meal as of late?
Night + Market opened back up for takeout, so anytime I’m close to Silver Lake—or if I give in for the 30-minute excursion through the city—I head there for the chicken pad see ew and crab fried rice. Sheeeeesh.
